Entangled Narratives

Our intent, within this CSSE conference symposium entitled: Towards comprehensive and competent early childhood educational systems across Canada: Entangled stories, was to illuminate fragmentation and apparently incommensurable visions while narrating less visible, alternative possibilities generated and lived in diverse communities and places.

Our intent, within this Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) conference symposium entitled: Towards comprehensive and competent early childhood educational systems across Canada: Entangled stories which took place virtually on June 2nd, 2021, was to illuminate fragmentation and apparently incommensurable visions while narrating less visible, alternative possibilities generated and lived in diverse communities and places. We sought to interweave the perspectives of educators, children, researchers, advocates, activists, and decision-makers and uncover intersecting, entangled, sometimes incommensurable narratives, in order to create space for conversations about local, regional, and federal next steps. Three presentations delve into what the project team learned from each of our three pan-Canadian webinars.

Notre intention, dans le cadre de ce symposium de la confĂ©rence de la SociĂ©tĂ© canadienne pour l’Étude de l’Éducation intitulĂ© : Vers des systĂšmes Ă©ducatifs complets et compĂ©tents pour la petite enfance au Canada : Histoires enchevĂȘtrĂ©es, qui s’est dĂ©roulĂ© virtuellement le 2 juin 2021, Ă©tait d’Ă©clairer la fragmentation et les visions apparemment incommensurables tout en racontant des possibilitĂ©s alternatives moins visibles, gĂ©nĂ©rĂ©es et vĂ©cues dans diverses communautĂ©s et lieux. Nous avons cherchĂ© Ă  entrelacer les perspectives des Ă©ducateurs, des enfants, des chercheurs, des dĂ©fenseurs, des activistes et des dĂ©cideurs et Ă  dĂ©couvrir des rĂ©cits qui se croisent, s’enchevĂȘtrent et sont parfois incommensurables, afin de crĂ©er un espace de conversation sur les prochaines Ă©tapes locales, rĂ©gionales et fĂ©dĂ©rales. Trois prĂ©sentations examinent ce que l’Ă©quipe du projet a appris lors de chacun de nos trois webinaires pancanadiens.
